New Directions, officially known as Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program, is a private, non-profit substance use disorder treatment facility located at 1981 Cherokee Road in Stockton, California. Established in 1992, the program has celebrated 27 years of service to adult men and women of San Joaquin County seeking to become free of alcohol and drug abuse. The core treatment program at New Directions is 6 months long. However, shorter and longer durations are also possible. Based on the 12 Steps, the program addresses more than substance use disorder. At New Directions, clients participate in nearly 50 hours of treatment and treatment related activities each week. Each participant is assigned a certified Substance Use Disorder counselor.

First Step is a drug and alcohol treatment program for pregnant, postpartum and parenting women and their children. The goal of the program is to assist and support women in developing positive parenting skills while learning to live a healthy, drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.
